The Secret
A series of images that tell a story. I felt these were women who came to life one rainy afternoon and stayed for longer. I still don’t know what they lived through.
Pirate Rosie
A cute little children’s book aimed at a any free-spirited girl with the heart of an adventurer.
She’s not going to comb her hair, pluck her “eyebrow”, shave her legs, or be a ‘nice’ girl.
She is going to paint with the waves, swim with the mermaids and sing from her heart.
She is going to take over your ship and make you walk the plank if you try to suggest she be anything different to the way she is.
Blood Witches
A horrifying futuristic world where greed, cruelty and narcissism have triumphed and a few individuals are left to form a resistance, even if just in their minds. From the bleak concentration camps to the decadent court of the insane High Blood Queen, the blood flows, corrupting all in it’s path. This is an ongoing long term project in development and will take place over several books.
Love visits briefly
A storybook idea based around a mermaid and her prince.
My models are the beautiful authoress Lynn Weingarten and the equally beautiful singer Roi Robertson from Mechanical Cabaret. I have ideas to develop this into an animation and a book.
Star Wars Tarot
An ongoing project. I showed these pictures first at a meeting of the New York Mythological Round Table group of the Joseph Campbell Foundation. George Lucas was inspired by comparitive Mythologist Joseph Campbell’s The Hero with a Thousand Faces.
When you work on a Tarot, it is something that has to work in an Alchemical way within. I see several images for each of the Major Arcana, for instance the card of the Tarot Emperor (Not to be confused with the Emperor in Star Wars) … The Tarot Emperor represents the ideal of King and Father. I worked on Anakin Skywalker for this, but also found myself drawing George Lucas, father of the story of Star Wars. Both images felt heavy to me, as if they were carrying a burden of responsibility. I love the Tarot for these reasons, tarot images connect us with the humanity in ourselves and others.
About Tigerlili
Tigerlili is an artist, musician and writer who currently lives in London. She has a calling to illustrate, sing and tell strange and fantastical stories. She illustrates in the old-fashioned way by hand using pencil and ink and then works digitally. She experiments with decorative techniques and gets excited by embellishments and beautiful textures.
She loves mermaids, magical horses, Goddesses and the Moon, folk tales, mythology and sacred art.
She currently does some freelance editorial work, sings in a band and is working on several book projects, for both adults and children. She misses living in the USA where you can buy a good cup of coffee, proper cowboy hats, and pumpkin pie.
Current Projects
Super lovely authoress Lynn Weingarten recently asked me to design a fancy tattoo for her new book series THE SECRET SISTERHOOD OF HEARTBREAKERS!
